Web designers and developers are keen to build modern, dynamic, highly interactive web pages, and a basic understanding of JavaScript will give you the means to achieve this. JavaScript will allow you to dynamically change HTML page elements, apply CSS at runtime and build sophisticated user interfaces that work across different browsers and platforms. This course is suitable for designers and developers with no prior scripting experience, and teaches the most important techniques you will need to get up and running quickly.
Requirements: you should have a good understanding of HTML and CSS.
We recommend that you attend this course before attending the 1 day jQuery course, as the two courses are complementary.

JavaScript is an open source browser scripting language. It provides much of the interactivity and functionality behind some of the most innovative and popular sites on the web today.
You don't have to be a programmer to work with JavaScript.
JavaScript integrates closely with HTML and CSS, and once you've mastered a few fundamental concepts, you will be able to begin building sophisticated pages, and even write your own custom reusable code elements.
Although they can be attended seperately, we highly recommend booking both of these courses as a block, especially if you are new to JavaScript. You'll find that the two courses are highly complementary, and together, will get you up and running really quickly. The cost for the two days when booked together is £500 + VAT. We always schedule these courses on consecutive days.
It's important that you have a good working knowledge of HTML and CSS before starting out with JavaScript or jQuery.
